1. About these terms
These terms are an agreement between you and MEYT LTD, a company registered in England and Wales under number 17366861, with its registered office at Suite 11060, 5 Brayford Square, London E1 0SG, United Kingdom ("meyt", "we", "us").
They cover letsmeyt.com and every app we make (together, the "Services"). Each app has its own section under App-specific terms; where that section says something different from the rest of these terms, the app section wins for that app. Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle your personal data and forms part of these terms. Some features may come with extra terms, which we'll show you before you use them.
2. Who can use the Services
Each app has a minimum age:
- meyt — 18 or over.
- Cosma — 16 or over.
For any of the Services:
- You must be able to enter a binding contract, and not be barred from using the Services under the law that applies to you or because we previously removed your account.
3. Your account
- Give us accurate information, and keep it up to date.
- One person, one account. Don't create an account for someone else or share yours.
- Keep your sign-in details secure. You're responsible for what happens on your account unless it was used without your permission and you weren't careless.
- Tell us straight away at [email protected] if you think someone else has access to it.
4. App-specific terms
Each app comes with a few extra terms of its own. They apply on top of the rest of this page whenever you use that app.
meyt
In short: meyt introduces people. It isn't a landlord, letting agent or party to any agreement you make — so meet safely, check everything, and put arrangements in writing.
- We're a platform, not a party. meyt helps you find flatmates and rooms. We don't own, manage, rent or inspect any property, and we're not a party to any tenancy, licence, sublet or other arrangement between users. Those are between you and the other person, and so is responsibility for them.
- Verification has limits. A verified badge means a person passed our identity check at the time. It is not a background check, and it doesn't guarantee who someone is, how they will behave or that a listing is accurate. Use your own judgement.
- Hosts must have the right to let. If you list a room, you confirm that you're allowed to — under your lease, mortgage and local law — and that your listing is accurate, including price, deposit and what's included. You're responsible for complying with housing, safety, tax and anti-discrimination law.
- No discrimination. You may not exclude people from a listing because of race, ethnicity, religion, disability, sexual orientation or any other characteristic protected by law, except where the law expressly allows it for shared living.
- Money. Never pay a deposit or rent before you've seen the property, met the person and have a written agreement. We don't handle payments between users and can't recover money paid to another user.
- Meeting in person. Meet in a public place first, tell a friend where you're going, and report anyone who makes you feel unsafe.
Cosma
In short: Cosma is for reflection and fun. It's not professional advice, and the decisions are always yours.
- Not professional advice. Readings, briefings and answers are based on astrology and Human Design. They are not medical, psychological, legal, financial or other professional advice, and they don't predict the future. Don't use Cosma in place of a qualified professional, and never delay getting help because of something Cosma said.
- AI-generated content. Much of what Cosma says is generated by AI models. It can be wrong, incomplete or unexpected, and it isn't reviewed by a person before you see it.
- Your decisions are yours. You're responsible for what you decide to do, whatever Cosma suggests.
- Other people's details. Only enter someone else's birth details for a bond reading if they're happy for you to.
- If you're struggling. If you're in crisis or thinking about harming yourself, contact your local emergency services or a crisis line straight away.
5. How you must behave
When you use the Services, you must not:
- pretend to be someone else, or misrepresent yourself, a property or a listing;
- harass, threaten, abuse, stalk or discriminate against anyone;
- post content that's illegal, sexually explicit, hateful, violent or that infringes someone else's rights;
- scam or defraud anyone, including by asking for money or personal details under false pretences;
- use the Services for commercial purposes we haven't approved, such as advertising or agency listings;
- send spam, or collect other users' data, including by scraping;
- interfere with, attack or reverse-engineer the Services, or get around any security or usage limit;
- help or encourage anyone else to do any of these things.
If you see something that breaks these rules, report it in the app or email [email protected]. We may remove content, limit features or suspend accounts that break them.
6. Your content
You own what you post — photos, profile text, listings, messages and journal entries ("your content"). You give us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, store, copy, display and adapt your content (for example to resize a photo) only so we can run, improve and keep the Services safe. The licence ends when you delete the content or your account, except where others already hold a copy (such as a message you sent) or we must keep it under our Privacy Policy.
You confirm you have the right to post your content and that it doesn't break these terms or the law. We don't check content before it's posted, but we may review or remove it.
7. Subscriptions and payments
- Some features are paid. We'll show the price, what's included and how often you'll be charged before you buy.
- Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each period until you cancel. You can cancel at any time; you'll keep access until the end of the period you've paid for.
- If you buy through the App Store or Google Play, their terms govern the payment, and you manage, cancel and request refunds through them. If you buy from us directly, you can cancel in the app or by contacting us.
- Your right to cancel. If you're a consumer in the UK or EU, you normally have 14 days to cancel a purchase. By asking us to give you access to digital content immediately, you agree that you lose this right once access begins.
- We may change prices. Changes apply from your next billing period, and we'll tell you in advance so you can cancel first.
8. Our intellectual property
The Services — including the apps, this website, the names and logos of meyt and its apps, our design and our software — belong to us or our licensors. We give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable and revocable licence to use them for their intended purpose under these terms. Nothing else is transferred to you.
Content our apps generate for you — such as a Cosma reading — is yours to keep and share for personal, non-commercial use. If you send us feedback or ideas, we may use them freely without owing you anything.
9. Ending your use
You can stop using the Services and delete your account at any time from the app's settings.
We may suspend or close your account if you seriously or repeatedly break these terms, if the law requires it, or if we need to protect other users or the Services. Where reasonable, we'll tell you why and give you a chance to respond. If we close a paid account without good reason, we'll refund the unused part of your subscription.
We may change or stop offering any part of the Services. If we shut down an app you've paid for, we'll give you reasonable notice and a pro-rata refund.
10. Disclaimers
We work hard to keep the Services useful, safe and available, but we provide them "as is" and "as available". To the extent the law allows, we don't promise that they'll be uninterrupted or error-free, or that you'll find a flatmate, a room or the answer you were hoping for. We aren't responsible for the conduct of other users, on or off the Services, or for content they post.
Nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights as a consumer, including the right to services provided with reasonable care and skill and digital content that is as described.
11. Our liability
We don't exclude or limit our liability where it would be unlawful to — including for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else the law doesn't allow us to limit.
Otherwise, to the extent the law allows:
- we're not liable for losses that weren't foreseeable, or for losses caused by other users or by your failure to follow these terms;
- if you use the Services for business purposes, we're not liable for loss of profit, business, revenue or opportunity;
- our total liability to you for all claims is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim and £100.
12. Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and disputes will be heard by the courts of England and Wales. If you're a consumer, you also keep the protection of the mandatory laws of the country where you live, and you can bring proceedings there.
If something goes wrong, please contact us first — most problems are quicker to fix by talking.
13. General
- Changes. We may update these terms. If a change is significant, we'll tell you in the app or by email before it takes effect. If you don't agree, you can stop using the Services and close your account before then.
- Transfer. We may transfer this agreement to another company, for example if meyt is acquired, and we'll tell you if we do. Your rights won't be reduced. You can't transfer your account to anyone else.
- If part of these terms is invalid, the rest still applies.
- If we don't enforce a term straight away, we can still enforce it later.
- Whole agreement. These terms and the Privacy Policy are the whole agreement between you and us about the Services.
